Division of Education

The Education Division is designed to foster the professional development of teachers and educational leaders through programs based in the liberal arts tradition, Catholic Marianist values, current research, and best practices.

Our Mission

Undergraduate Programs

We offer bachelor’s degrees in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education with a Montessori Credential, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education.

Master of Arts in Teaching

The Master of Arts in Teaching program is designed for the student who has graduated with a Bachelor of Art or Science degree and is seeking licensure to teach.

Master of Education

The Master of Education provides enriched learning experiences for educational professionals who already have a bachelor’s degree and who want to extend their knowledge and professional qualifications.

Public Disclosure of Accreditation

TEAC Accreditation

The Education Division at Chaminade University of Honolulu is awarded TEAC accreditation by the Inquiry Brief Commission of the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for a period of seven years, from 10/24/2016-12/31/2023. The accreditation does not include individual education courses that the EPP offers to P-12 educators for professional development, re-licensure, or other purposes.

Hawaii Teacher Standards Board

Chaminade University’s undergraduate and graduate education degree programs are accredited by the Hawai’i Teacher Standards Board.

Montessori Accreditation

The Montessori Program is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education and affiliated with the American Montessori Society.
